My photography style would be described as photo-journalistic. I love to blend in with the guests and capture candid and intimated moments between the bride, groom and guests. As I use documentary approach, posing will kept at a minimum and I will focus more on capturing in-the-moment scenes. This will be discussed at length with the client before hand to make sure their specific needs are met.

Vaal de Sioleh Wedding Venue is situated on the banks of the Vaal River, 20km outside Parys in the Free State. It offers unique surroundings and views to relax among nature where you can often hear the call of the African Fish Eagle… and it is the perfect location for a romantic wedding.

The large thatched roof Reception Hall at Vaal de Sioleh is ideal for an unforgettable wedding.  The hall can easily accommodate 140 guests with enough space left for a dance floor and 160 guests without a dancing area. The hall has ample doors leading out onto the terrace, balcony’s and lawn area.

The unique thatched roof wedding chapel, with large windows behind the altar, overlooks the magnificent Vaal River and surrounding nature. It is perfect for being part of nature but with peace of mind that the weather patterns will not catch you by surprise. It radiates an intimate atmosphere of magic and romance.

Vaal De Sioleh offers a quaint country chapel nestled between the banks of scenic Vaal River outsid Parys. The tranquility of the chapel is enhanced by towering trees, peaceful gardens and quiet walkway, disturbed only by the squirrels and chirping birds.

They also have onsite accommodation available to extend your wedding celebration and can accommodate up to 75 people in various chalets, 8 sleeper log cabin, guesthouse and honeymoon suite.

Savannah Wedding Venue is one of the top wedding venues in the Free State. It is located just outside of Parys, nestled in the Vredefort Dome World Heritage Site. It is part of a game reserve that borders 8km of the Vaal River and is home to 25 different mammal species including buffalo, giraffe, sable, zebra and kudu.

Both the chapel and reception areas are situated on the Vaal river for a truly unique and awe inspiring experience. The venue can comfortably accommodate up to 200 guests.

Savannah Wedding Venue outside Parys is a unique African/country style bush wedding venue… tranquil and private. They host no other weddings or activities on your wedding day. You have the entire 2500 acre reserve to yourself. The Nutcracker wedding venue was established on a pecan nut farm in 2010 and has hosted over 450 weddings since then. The Nutcracker provides you with the true experience and splendour of a country wedding venue. The unique architecture and styling create a feel of European country-style elegance with rustic comforts creating an inviting look that is both polished and lived-in.

The open lounge area overlooks the river and lawns leading to the Chapel. It’s a cosy setting providing the ideal space for pre-ceremony drinks, photo booth, seating during the picnic, undercover alternative for the picnic, and your “After-Party”.

The quaint Chapel, with its airy feel, provides an ideal location with the sound of the eternity fountain whispering in your ear. An old handcrafted door imported from India leads you into the Chapel, where you can take a seat on our old-style church benches. The summoning of guests by the bell provides the welcome sound of beautiful things to come. They are also able to accommodate outside ceremonies.

The reception venue provides the ideal space bringing together the dance floor, dining and bar area leading out to the balcony overlooking the river. The interior is a blend of Oregon-frames windows, wooden tables, a combination of steel and wooden chairs, double volume ceiling and tasteful glass chandeliers. It can comfortably accommodate from 40 guests up to a maximum of 160 guests.

There are photo opportunities in every direction you look. The most popular options are pecan nut orchards, jetties, the Chapel, the restaurant, and the picnic areaw.

Parys is an attractive town located on the banks of the Vaal River in the Northern Free State. It is the ideal breakaway from the city life as it is close enough for weekends away. There are a large number of art galleries, antique and gift shops in the town. Parys has become a popular settlement for many artists who have made Parys their home. As a result of its unique character, Parys has become one of the attractions of the Northern Free State.

Parys is the only place along the Vaal River that you will find rapids. This makes it great for water sports enthusiasts, with white water rafting and kayaking as the firm favourites.

Just outside Parys is a farm cultivating South Africa’s only black raspberries (Bon-Af Berry Farm). Visitors can have the experience of picking berries straight off the bushes during harvest season March – November.

The small town of Parys is the gateway to the world’s oldest and largest crater, the Vredefort Dome. Recently named a World Heritage Site, the 300km-wide crater was created when a meteorite the size of Table Mountain-sized struck the earth 2,000 million years ago. Every year on the first weekend in November, the Parys Dome Adventure Festival takes place – with craft stalls, adventure activities, sports and music.
